A comforting East-meets-West noodle bowl with soy sauce, garlic, and a protein-packed twist.
This Sesame Minced Meat Macaroni Stir-Fry is a one-pan wonder that blends Western pasta comfort with bold Asian flavors. Think of it as a twist on your childhood macaroni—but instead of tomato sauce, it’s seasoned with soy, garlic, sesame oil, and savory minced meat, topped with tender spinach and a gooey egg. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal, especially when you only want to cook for one.

What Makes This Dish Unique:
Fusion flavor combo – Classic macaroni paired with Asian pantry staples like dark soy, sesame oil, and shallots.
One-pot pasta base – Minimal cleanup with a fast stovetop prep.
Customizable protein – Works great with chicken, pork, or plant-based mince.
Hearty but balanced – Veggies, egg, protein, and carbs all in one bowl.

Ingredients:
20g shallot, diced
20g garlic, diced
½ tbsp light soy sauce
½ tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
~100g minced meat (½ packet, any variety)
½ cup dry macaroni
500ml water
1 stalk spinach, washed
1 egg (raw or cooked to preference)
Instructions:
Boil the macaroni
Bring 500ml water to a boil in a small pot. Add macaroni and cook according to package directions (about 8 minutes). Drain and set aside.
Cook the aromatics & meat
In a frying pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add diced shallots and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
Add minced meat
Stir in the minced meat and light soy sauce. Cook until meat is browned and broken into small pieces.
Combine with pasta
Add the cooked macaroni into the pan. Stir in dark soy sauce and mix well to coat evenly.
Add spinach & steam
Add spinach on top, cover with a lid, and allow it to steam-fry for about 2 minutes.
Serve with egg
Option 1: Crack a raw egg on top and let the heat gently cook it.
Option 2: Top with a sunny-side-up or soft-boiled egg for extra richness.

Pro Tips & Variations:
Add chili flakes or sambal for a spicy kick.
Swap spinach for bok choy or napa cabbage.
Use leftover pasta to make this an even quicker dish.
