Why This Teriyaki Sauce Is Special:

  • Great for reducing food waste – Use up those half-full bottles before they expire!

  • 4 ingredients only – Light soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar.

  • Versatile and customizable – Use as a marinade, glaze, or stir-fry sauce.

  • Keeps up to 1 month – Make ahead and refrigerate for easy meals anytime.

Instructions:

  1. Combine & heat

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add all ingredients. Stir until the sugar fully dissolves.

  2. Boil & reduce

Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced by one-third and thickened slightly.

  3. Cool & store

Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.

Transfer to a clean, airtight jar or bottle. Store in the fridge for up to 1 month.

  4. Ready to use!

Shake gently before using. Use as a glaze, drizzle, or marinade.

💡 Pro Tips for Cooking with Teriyaki Sauce:

  • Less is more: Teriyaki sauce is concentrated and salty. Use it to glaze or coat meat, not as a soup base, taste as you add!

  • Double the batch: This keeps well in the fridge—perfect for quick weeknight meals.

  • Additions: Want more depth? Add a slice of ginger or garlic clove during simmering, then strain before storing.
